Shanks Waste use JCC Recycling Systems at three Scottish Depots
Shanks Waste Management now have JCC recycling systems at three of their Scottish depots –
Blochairn, Broxburn and Aberdeen.
Blochairn & Broxburn have been utilising the maximum efficiency and flexibility of the mobile
hooklift picking station, while Aberdeen have installed a purpose built commingle recycling
system.
The Aberdeen systems consists of a stand alone feed conveyor which regulates and feeds the
incline conveyor which then transfers the waste stream to the commingle trommel where the cans
etc. are separated for further recycling. The residual waste is then transferred onto a Pickstar
picking station where the pickers can separate it into other recyclable waste streams.
The system
was designed to separate as much of the waste as possible while maintaining the strength of a
static system while retaining the flexibility of a mobile system. All JCC picking stations and
conveyors have variable speed heavy duty electric or hydraulic drives to ensure the optimum
speed and flexibility of today’s recycling requirements.
Hamish Oag, General Manager, commented "JCC have provided a swift and flexible solution to
our immediate waste sortation requirements via the hire of their trommel and picking line
assembly."
