Levenseat Material Recycling facility (MRF) nears completion
Levenseat Ltd of Forth, Lanarkshire recently invested in a MRF from JCC Engcon Group and the
facility is now nearing completion with all the major recycling components in place.
Angus Hamilton of Levenseat decided on the JCC range of recycling systems after extensive
dialogue between the two companies on the optimum size of the facility and the integral features it
should contain to reclaim the maximum recyclables from the proposed system e.g. the JCC
integral ferrous separation system to allow further non-ferrous separation.

approach taken by the experienced installation team.’
The recycling facility includes a grizzly cascade screener, with the under 200mm being taken to a
separate trommel screen for the fines to be screened and any small ferrous waste separated via the
overband magnet, before rejoining the over 200mm waste stream conveyor to the picking station.
Prior to both streams entering the picking station, both conveyors have heavy duty air density
separators separating the light fraction into one large combined lights cage.
The SPS6 picking station consists of 6 picking bays with 1 internal ferrous separation bay which is
fully guarded from the walkways and which allows the further separation of the non-ferrous waste
stream inside the picking cabin. For the comfort of the pickers, the cabin has been designed with a
lighting & heating system, insulated cladding, double glazed windows & doors, and ergonomic
picking positions.
The picking station sits on the famous Levenseat “lego blocks” which have been designed to
support the recycling facility. Levco blocks provide a robust and flexible approach to building a
wide range of designs from storage bays to supporting walls for plant installations. The
interlocking system holds the blocks together while allowing structures to be modified in the
future or blocks to be used in a different application altogether. Due to the solid nature of the
blocks they withstand heavy plant and add mass to produce a stable structure. They can be used to
build temporary or permanent structures in any number of configurations and advice is available
on design and layout.
